Sound Familiar?
You feel like you have spent the majority of your life chasing that “magical number on the scale” You don’t even know why you keep torturing yourself the way you do, constantly measuring your worth or determining your mood based on a subjective number.
To make matters worse, your food habits and what you eat seem to be connected to how you feel about yourself and your body; ultimately resulting in a negative sense of self. You get caught in a vicious cycle of restricting your eating based on what you see in the mirror. Sometimes this then leads to overeating, binging, or eating for comfort, which then results in the blame and shame game.
If that wasn’t enough self sabotage, you constantly play the comparison game in your mind, measuring yourself up to an “invisible standard” that you might never meet. Your inner critic is always criticizing you and your “less than perfect body”, even though you know you don’t deserve to be talked to that way. You dream of the days when you can look in the mirror, not suck in your stomach or say “if only I was” inside your mind's eye.

In order to come to live in a body you love it starts with having a more loving relationship with yourself. First we will work on changing our mindset and asking you what you think and some of your negative thought patterns that you have had about your body and your relationship to food your whole life. If you can come to a more loving relationship with yourself, then I truly believe you can learn to love your body more.

Once again, I don’t like to use the word “cure”, because that implies that there is something wrong with you, or that we need to “fix”. In our work together we will come to a more loving, healthy, and positive place not only with yourself, but with your relationship to food and ultimately your body.

It can be difficult to accept ourselves if we have been accustomed to believe certain facts or beliefs about ourselves our whole life. In order to come to acceptance or sometimes a more neutral place about ourselves and sometimes our bodies, we first need to deconstruct these thought patterns and then try to work on reframing them to a more positive way of thinking.
