Does This Sound Familiar?
You are constantly “on the go” and life is starting to feel like one never ending “to do list”. Even as you “check things off the list” you still feel like you’re not doing enough. You can’t remember the last time you put yourself at the top of the list and actually said “yes to yourself” while understanding it is okay to say “no to somebody else”.
You constantly jump to “the worst case scenario” and wish you could stop yourself from micro-managing every detail of your life. It becomes harder to sleep at night and you wish your brain had an “off switch” . Your stomach feels like it’s always doing flip flops and sometimes you feel panic inside of your chest or have difficulty breathing.
You are constantly playing the “comparison game” in your mind and always measuring yourself up to an “invisible standard” that’s impossible to meet. You feel like if you looked up the word “imposter" in the dictionary you would see your face staring right back at you. You have a hard time accepting compliments from other people and are always questioning and doubting your own abilities.
You doubt your abilities so much that you overcompensate by becoming a perfectionist and a people pleaser. You always want things to be a particular way and in a particular order, but this becomes exhausting. Your “inner critic” grows louder and louder and becomes the only voice that you hear. Sometimes it drowns out everything else in your mind, and it is hard to concentrate.
You dream of the days when you could just slow down and take a break, but you just keep pushing through.
